The best "real home made" Gyros, John Panos, a local and international baker/chef, this spot is the best in VA and its environs....

A gem of a small Greek restaurant that far exceeds expectations for a casual restaurant in a strip mall. The food is genuinely Greek as is the interesting and friendly owner. The pork gyro is delicious and large - think fresh, warm pork roast in a wrap. If you have room at the end of the meal, there are fresh Greek pastries. Comfortable seating inside and out with a simple and friendly ambience. Enjoy.

It was the best damn gyro I've ever eaten. Service was attentive, the food was prepared promptly. Carry out or eat in. Very casual. The Greek owner is entertaining and a pleasure to speak with.

Who would have expected fine dining meals from a small open kitchen (think pizza or sandwich shop style restaurant) with a few tables in a small strip shopping center in Great Falls, Virginia, but Thelo Greek Kuzina's food was stellar. I could not decide what to get to take home for our family, so got way too much food for four people. Every meal, appetizer, and desert was delicious. we had the lamb shank meal, the New York Sirloin entree, Moussaka, Imam Baildi, lamb gyros, Greek salad, homemade potato chips (best ever), pita and hummus sampler, and more. Deserts were the lemon cake, apricot baklava, sour cherry baklava. Yeah we overdid it on our order, but we enjoyed a smorgasbord of delicious Greek food that made you think it was from a top 10 upscale downtown restaurant. Thank you Thelo Greek Kuzina for an unexpected true culinary experience.

I want to gatekeeper this place so badly but John deserves all the love possible!! This place is an absolute GEM in nova. Such authentic Greek food that's so clean, refreshing, and soul- nourishing. Everything tastes like a homemade meal and John (the owner) will walk around and talk to you as if you're at his personal dining room table. My go tos: pork gyro, spanakopita, Greek salad, bougatsa (GET THE BOUGATSA DESSERT- it takes 15 min to make and it comes out in all its warm phyllo dough creamy center glory). For an even more authentic experience, try a Vergina Lager or Red Ale. I've tried to find this beer everywhere in NOVA after I came back from Greece and John is the only person I know who has it ).

I came in to pick up some of their lemon potatoes to try. I decided on an apricot baklava as well, and on impulse ordered a Greek coffee. The order or Greek coffee caused a flurry of questions. Hot or cold? Sweet or unsweetened? Is a small cup ok or would I prefer a large one? Answers: hot, just a little sweet, and the small cup is fine. As I was waiting a gentleman came out with the coffee in a little pot with a long handle. He then brought out an attractive demitasse and saucer, and poured a little in the cup. This all surprised me as my order was to go. He said, "Very hot. Take a small sip and do not drink. Enjoy." I followed his instructions and rolled the bit of coffee in my mouth my rather immediately drinking. And it was wonderful. When the rest of my order appeared I poured the rest of the coffee into the small to go container and put the lid on to carry. It was actually very convenient. Now I'm enjoying my coffee and baklava while I write this. What I thought was going to be a quick stop for lemon potatoes ended up being a wonderful treat on a glorious summer Saturday. Thank you!
